Event Details
In celebration of Asian Pacific American Heritage Month, NAAAP OKC is hosting PowerNAAAP at Valir Health with Dr. Oh Bunnag. Oh Bunnag is a Thai immigrant that came to the United States in 1993 with a student visa to obtain his MBA. He is a co-founder and board member of Valir Health, one of the largest post-acute care rehabilitation in Oklahoma. Oh Bunnag gives back to the community by founding PACE (Program for All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly), a non profit organization, with his business partners. One of his favorite contributions is donating his time to Valir PACE providing physical therapy to participants.
"PACE impacts many lives. You are not only helping seniors maintain independence in their homes but you are also helping their families with reducing burden of care."-Oh Bunnag
PACE is a nonprofit organization started in 1971 in San Francisco with the purpose of finding a solution to meet the needs for the elderly, particularly in the Asian community. Valir PACE is unique in that it keeps the focus on culture and provides a solution for Asians who want to keep their parents home and not in a nursing home.
Please join us as Dr. Bunnag shares his story of how he immigrated to the US, overcame obstacles to establishing his career, how his Thai culture played a role in his life, and his advice for young Asian professionals.
